Passengers can either experience a daytrip to Lapland, or enjoy a longer 2-night break for a festive getaway.
Passengers are able to enjoy a day trip to Lapland in Finland from Cardiff Airport with Transun on 15 December. The day trip includes the chance to experience a snowmobile and reindeer sleigh ride, tobogganing, and of course the chance to meet Father Christmas.
Newmarket Holidays is also operating a day trip to Lapland Sweden on 9 December. The day trip features exciting winter activities such as husky sledding through the arctic wilderness, and a ‘Search for Santa’ experience.
Day trips with both operators include hot meals during the flight and warm thermal clothing.
For those wanting to spend longer than a day exploring Lapland, tour operator Hotelplan has two scheduled trips departing on 6 and 11 December. Book onto a ‘Santa’s Magic’ trip for classic Christmassy activities and games, or for something slightly different, a luxury ‘Santa’s Aurora’ break is available to book and includes the chance to see the Northern Lights from an igloo and enjoy a ‘wilderness dinner.’ There are also optional adventure add-ons such as a Snow Safari and ‘Rudolf’s Reindeer Run.’
Deb Barber, CEO at Cardiff Airport said: ‘It’s fantastic to once again offer flights to Lapland this winter so that families can have the chance to meet Santa and enjoy a white Christmas. Flying from your local airport means it’s possible to enjoy a magical trip to Lapland in just one day.’
For those looking for a winter escape elsewhere, passengers can enjoy ski holidays from Cardiff with direct flights to Chambery, Geneva, Munich and Milan Malpensa with Flybe. Alternatively, holidaymakers can fly to some winter sun this Christmas, with routes to beach destinations including Malaga and Alicante with Vueling and Faro with Ryanair and Flybe.
