Cardiff Airport, the national airport for Wales, in partnership with The Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone Business Interaction Group and Business Wales, have announced details of a special briefing event for businesses in Pembrokeshire to share details of the new air link between Wales and the Middle East. The event will take place on Wednesday 24th January in the Bridge Innovation Centre, Pembroke Dock between 8:15am – 10:00am.
On April 24th 2017 Qatar Airways’ Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker announced a new direct, daily service between Cardiff Airport and Hamad International Airport, Doha, Qatar starting on the 1st May 2018.
This truly is game-changing for Cardiff Airport, and most significantly presents Wales and the South West of England with major opportunities to develop and enhance links with the Gulf, Far East, Africa and Australasia.
The breakfast briefing event on 24th January will include speakers from Cardiff Airport, Qatar Airways and Welsh Government expert on international trade who will each discuss the business benefits and opportunities the new service offers for business across all sectors in Pembrokeshire.
There will also be exhibitors present from South Wales Chamber of Commerce, Business Wales, Development Bank of Wales, Pembrokeshire Council, Superfast Business Wales, and the International Trade team from Welsh Government.
The Airport team will also be on hand to brief and seek the opinions of key stakeholders across the region. They will start linking those interested parties who wish to maximise this new bi-lateral relationship between Qatar and Wales and the South West of England, and consider how they can work together to align their respective strategies.
