Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, will this Bank Holiday Monday (31st August 2015) celebrate the start of a new year-round route between Cardiff and Munich as well as an extra 22 flights being added to seven of its existing key routes as a result of the arrival of its second 118-seat Embraer 195 jet aircraft to be based at the Airport.  To mark the occasion, a lively and colourful German themed experience is being planned for passengers to enjoy after checking in.

The new flights to and from Munich will operate Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, with one way fares available from £44.99 each way including taxes and charges. This new route joins the airline’s extensive year- round network following the opening of its new base at Cardiff Airport in June.

Highlights of the added frequency to Flybe’s existing routes following the arrival of its second E-jet are:

• Cork - boosting the current Saturday service with a second weekly flight on Tuesdays
• Dublin – increase to double daily flights Monday – Friday timed for convenient day returns, and addition of an early morning flight on Saturdays
• Dusseldorf - an extra three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to boost the existing Saturday service
• Edinburgh – increase to twice daily service Monday – Friday, and Sundays
• Glasgow –  now operating five flights a week Monday – Thursday, and Sundays
• Milan Malpensa – Increase to three flights a week with addition of Thursdays and Sundays
• Paris Charles de Gaulle - new daily service, up from existing four flights a week.

Flights to Chambery and Geneva will again operate during the Winter, with weekly Saturday flights starting on December 19^th, bringing the total number of destinations served by Flybe from Cardiff to 13.  Fully updated details of the new schedule for all Cardiff routes are available at www.flybe.com
