Cardiff Airport 51° Executive Lounge Conditions of Use for Passengers

Opening hours

The 51° Executive Lounge is currently open Monday to Sunday – 03:30 – 18:00 subject to availability.

The Welsh Government may introduce rules that could affect the lounge operation.

The 51° Executive lounge will follow all rules and regulations that may change.

Should the booking system indicate no availability, this might be an indication of not being open or full to its capacity for the time period selected.

The 51° Executive Lounge is closed on Christmas Day.

Access

Access to the 51° Executive Lounge is available via a direct booking via the Cardiff Airport website. Pre booked access via a third party will require proof of booking being presented at the time of entry. Access may be granted at the door on the basis that the lounge is open and there is availability. Access will be granted by payment via a contactless debit / credit card or a valid and accepted membership card.

Any third-party access without being pre booked will be subject to availability.

It is the responsibility of the customers to be aware of checking times of flights to ensure the correct lounge slot is selected. We will not be able to permit early access.

Guests are responsible for knowing their flight details at the point of starting the booking, to ensure the relevant time slot is selected.

Pre-booked guests must present a valid confirmation number along with the lead party name to gain entry.

Please note that access cards via a third-party organisation may change at short notice.

Stag and Hen parties are not permitted, should a booking be made under false pretences the lounge have the right to ask guests to leave without a refund.

In the event of a flight delay the lounge, the 3-hour rule will apply. Subject to availability guests may be granted the opportunity to purchase an additional visit for a further 3 hour period but not beyond this time. All lounge rules with regards to alcohol measures will remain in place. Should flights be delayed beyond the opening hours of the lounge, lounge guests will make use of the main departure area as the executive lounge closing times will remain.

In the event that the Welsh Government deem necessary to introduce documentation such as Track and Trace, lounge customers will be obliged to complete this. This information will not shared with any third party and is destroyed after 21 days of using the lounge.

Entrance to the Executive Lounge is limited to a maximum stay of up to 3 hours per person and may be refused where:

  • It is full to capacity
  • The dress code is not adhered to. Smart casual or business attire is required, tailored shorts are permitted, however please refrain from wearing sportswear, or any items with slogans that may cause offence. It is not acceptable to enter the lounge with minimal clothing like beachwear.
  • Large group bookings (more than 6 adults) without authorisation granted prior to visit; or multiple bookings which form part of a large group with no prior authorisation.
  • Hen or stag parties have booked and have ignored the notice that Hen and stag parties are not permitted.

Passengers may be requested to vacate the Executive Lounge where:

  • Unacceptable amounts of alcohol are consumed (Lounge entry includes 4 alcoholic drinks per person (should the guests be over the legal limit of 18 years of age -passport proof can be asked for at the time of serving. Alcoholic beverages may be purchased from the lounge further to 4 drinks being consumed. The lounge team have a duty of care to all guests and staff both within the terminal and on the flight. The lounge team have the right to refuse the service/sale of alcoholic beverages at any time).
  • Any passenger is deemed to be acting in an inappropriate manner
  • Any passenger is being disruptive and/or causing upset to other passengers
  • The maximum stay of 3 hours is exceeded
  • Persons under the age of 18 years consume alcohol
  • It is deemed that multiple small bookings have been made to form one large group.
  • Staff are met with any abusive or inappropriate behaviour

Any decision to refuse entry shall be taken at Cardiff International Airport Limited’s sole and absolute discretion.

By booking or using the lounge passengers are accepting the terns of its use.

Facilities

The Executive Lounge offers the following to passengers:

  • Comfortable and suitable seating
  • Provision of a selection of complimentary hot, cold and alcoholic beverages served from a menu to your table.
  • Access to TV, telephone, fax, photocopying and Wi-Fi facilities.

Please note: Bar service will cease once your flight has been called. It is strictly forbidden to remove items from the Lounge, Lounge staff reserve the right to challenge customers on this point if they have reason to believe otherwise.  

CANCELLATIONS /AMENDMENTS/REFUNDS 

  • In the event of the customer failing to arrive for their stay, Cardiff Airport shall be under no obligation, at any time, to issue any refund, in full or in part, of the charges previously paid by the customer. 
  • Should a cancellation be made by an airline the customer will be offered a booking for an alternative day. Should an alternative not be possible a refund will be issued. 
  • Refunds will be issued via a bank transfer/ cheque/direct payment back onto card used at point of purchase. 
  • Should a customer have checked in to the Executive Lounge but not stayed for the full 3 hour period possible. This will be recorded as a visit and no refund will be issued. 
  • A customer may amend their booking outside of a 48 hour period with no administration fee being payable.
  • In the event of a customer wishing to amend an existing booking inside of 48 hour period, the following payments are applicable and payable to Cardiff Airport; 
  • If the amendment results in no difference or a positive difference to the value of the resulting booking monetary value, the customer will incur a one–off £2.00 GBP (inclusive of UK VAT) administration fee per amendment. 
  • If the amend results in a negative difference following the removal of passengers from the booking, then the customer will incur a £3.00 GBP (inclusive of UK VAT) administration fee per guest removed. 
  • Customers may only amend their booking once. Any further amends will need to be approved by the Executive Lounge Manager during regular office hours, with applicable fees being applied accordingly. 
  • Customers cannot cancel their bookings within 48 hours of departure. 
  • In order to cancel an authorised group booking (A group booking that has been pre-authorised by the Executive Lounge Manager ), Cardiff Airport must be notified at least 7 days prior to the proposed date of travel with a fee of £5.00 GBP (inclusive of UK VAT) per passenger payable by the customer to Cardiff Airport in respect of such cancellation. Thereafter, the full charge shall be payable and no refund, or other form of compensation, will be made. 
  • Any Cancellation/amendments/refund communications should be made by email and addressed to ExecutiveLounge@cwl.aero . Cardiff Airport will aim to acknowledge communication via email within a 48 hr period.
