Fly from Cardiff to Rio de Janeiro with a one stop connection

Rio de Janeiro might be named ‘The Marvellous City’, but this seems somewhat of an understatement. Rio is a city that has to be seen to be believed, as it is encased in awe-inspiring scenery that will astound visitors. From the golden sands of the Copacabana to the mighty Sugarloaf Mountain, Rio will struggle to fit on a panoramic picture.

Amazingly, this is only the beginning to Rio. The stunning landscape means that there is an array of outdoor activities that visitors can enjoy, including surfing, cycling, sailing and even paragliding. For those that prefer partying to exercising, Rio is more than happy to accommodate as it has some of the world’s best nightlife on its doorstep. The locals love to have fun, and their feel-good attitude is infectious.

This city is exhilarating in every sense and leaves travellers with unforgettable experiences that they won’t want to leave behind.

Experience Carnival. If you want to see Rio in peak party-mode then try and visit Rio in February as this is when it normally takes place. The parades can be seen in the Sambódromo and when the Carnival isn’t on visitors can still get a flavour of the event at the Carnival’s exhibition centre.
See the sunset or sunrise. Copacabana Beach is beautiful throughout the day but try and see the sunset or sunrise from this famous beach as it promises to be breath-taking.
Say hello to Cristo Redentor. The Cristo Redentor sits on top of the Corcovado Mountain and can be visited easily via a train that departs every 30 minutes from the bottom of the mountain.
Enjoy the wildlife. Rio has beautiful wildlife that can be enjoyed wherever you are. Keep your eyes peeled for parrots and toucans.
Dance the night away. A trip to Rio would not be complete without experiencing some Brazillian music, such as Samba. Go into one of the many clubs and immerse yourself in the beautiful beat.

Try and learn some basic Brazilian Portuguese so that you can have a chat with the locals!
