1.Visit the old town. At the heart Antalya is the winding lanes of the old-city district of Kelieci (literally ‘within the castle’). You can admire a mixture of Ottoman and Roman architecture, including famous sites such as Hadrian’s Gate. Make sure you find somewhere to enjoy a traditional Turkish tea too!
2. Chase waterfalls.The Antalyan region is rich with waterfalls, caves and springs formed along the Duden River: the scenic Duden Waterfalls are the most famous and make a great picnic spot.
3. The Glory Coast. Legend says that 2,000 years ago King Attalos II of Pergamon sent his men to find ‘heaven on earth.’ What they found was this incredible stretch of coastline in Turkey, which boasts a spectacular blue ocean under its cliffs. The Glory Coast is worth exploring for its ancient sites and amazing views.
4. Visit the Antalya Museum. Discover Turkish history through an array of dazzling exhibits that display findings from excavation sites. The museum is a fascinating day out for all the family.
5. Go back in time.The Termessos Colosseum is an awe-inspiring day out, located an hour out of the city of Antalya, so it is best reached by renting a car or hopping on a guided tour. This ancient site has an impressive atmosphere, so take your walking boots and spend time hiking through the site to take in the incredible views throughout the Termessos National Park.
