Alicante Home to Spain’s best beaches

Direct flights from Cardiff to Alicante

Alicante is nestled amongst the northern hills and mountains which mean that it sustains its Mediterranean climate and has very little rainfall throughout the year. With its warm summers and mild winters, Alicante promises not to dampen your holiday spirit.

Although it is a very popular tourist destination, Alicante is more than just great nightclubs and beaches. It is culturally thriving with a range of museums, festivals and even nature areas that are all on your doorstep.

However do try and experience some of Spain’s famous nightlife in the old town of El Barrio, you are sure to have an unforgettable evening!

  1. Find the castle! If you head to the sea front and look towards Mount Benacantil you will see the Santa Bárbara Castle which is definitely worth a visit.
  2. Relax on the beach. Alicante has some fantastic beaches which are fun and safe, due to their Blue Flag status.
  3. Go back to nature. Discover Alicante’s oldest green park, Canalejas Park, and enjoy the variety of plants and fountains.
  4. Spend time at the Marina! The Alicante Marina is definitely worth a visit as it is buzzing with entertainment, restaurants, bars and shops.
  5. Make a splash. Alicante is also great for water sports so dive into the deep end with activities such as jet skiing, surfing, snorkelling and windsurfing.

Go to the castle, the harbour, and for tapas!
