Airspace Change Proposal

This report was the joint proposal for additional controlled airspace for both Bristol International Airport and Cardiff Airport, as submitted to Civil Aviation Authority Directorate of Airspace Policy (CAA DAP) in 2005.

  • Use of aircraft stand ID signs: Stands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 are parking with marshalled guidance
  • Taxiway guide lines and visual docking. Additionally stands 7, 9 and 10 are equipped with nose-loader type air bridges
  • Parking guidance system of aircraft stands: The above stands (7,9 and 10) are provided with AGNIS, which is switched on before the aircraft enters the stand and switches off after 20mins automatically. These stands utilise illuminated identification numbers, and Side Marker Boards (SMB)
  • Aircraft using air bridges park with AGNIS system. Aircraft not using air bridges will be marshalled.
