Drop off and pick up

Drop off

All drivers picking up or dropping off passengers should follow the Pick up/drop off signage trail.

The following options are available:

Priority drop & go

Drivers can pay £1 for 10 minutes to drop off passengers outside the terminal building.

Blue badge holders are entitled to up to 20 minutes in the Priority drop & go area.

Payment is made using the coin bin/card machine on exit.

Cars must not be left unattended at any time.

Free drop off

Alternatively, a 20 minutes FREE drop off, pick up and parking area is available in Long Stay 1.

There is a short walk to the terminal or a FREE shuttle bus to the terminal building. There is also a special assistance vehicle available for passengers with reduced mobility.

After 20 minutes parking will be charged as follows.

up to 20 mins = Free
20 – 1 hour = £2.50
1 - 2 hours = £5.00
2 - 3 hours = £7.50

Payment can be made in the arrivals hall or car park payment machine.

Please do not pick up or drop off on approach roads as this may create traffic congestion and will also mean a longer walk for your passengers.

Pick up

The following options are available:

Drivers can pay £1 for 20 minutes to collect passengers from the Short Stay Car Park, close to the terminal building.

After 20 minutes parking will be charged at the standard tariff. Payment can be made in the arrivals hall or car park payment machine.

Free pick up

Alternitavely, a 20 minutes FREE drop off, pick up and parking area is available in Long Stay 1.

There is a short walk to the terminal or a FREE shuttle bus to the terminal building. There is also a special assistance vehicle available for passengers with reduced mobility.

Information for Private Coach Companies operating 40 plus Seater Coaches

Only authorised coaches will be allowed entry to the Terminal forecourt for dropping off passengers.
Coaches will not be permitted entry unless prior notice of their arrival has been provided and approved by Cardiff Airport.
Coaches MUST use the left hand exit lane to exit the Terminal forecourt

A £1.00 fee is required to exit the Terminal forecourt

Alternatively coaches may use the LONG STAY 1 car park for disembarking OR collecting passengers. Please note that this car park is a short walk from the main Terminal Building. Use of this facility is free of charge up to 20 mins thereafter normal tariff charges apply.

Coach companies with clients forming unique groups e.g. Sporting Teams, Special requirements, or VIPs can contact Cardiff Airport to discuss specific pick up or drop off arrangements. Please contact aoa@cwl.aero
